Their song is heard far and wide as they announce the arrival of spring.  The beautiful flutelike melody of the Meadowlark is sure to brighten my day accompanied by the wild crocus and the new shoots of sage.  The blue azure butterfly tiptoes through the tulips, dazzling my eyes that are still glazed with remnants of a winter haze.

A member of the blackbird family, his vibrant yellow breast with a distinctive black V is recognizable across the meadow. As he props himself atop a  fence post to rejoice, I open the windows and warm up my voice.  We croon together for spring as singing accompanied by the warm breeze is food for the soul.

Spring has sprung along with the many beautiful blessings from nature.
