I wandered with winter and this is what I saw,

A blooming forsythia bush 10 ft. tall.

While in the blizzards might,
I captured a glimpse of a purple finch
  struggling to keep flight.

Oh how I long for spring.

During a blizzard this March, a purple finch hit the window, struggling to fly a straight course through the intense winds and snow.
Blown onto the deck, wings flapping and tail bottoming-out, I remember thinking,
“I can't wait for the forsythia to bloom.”
