Pollinating the Prairie Rose
Do hummingbirds pollinate?; perhaps the irony of this piece.  I had to combine these two beauties. 
While on a walk down our road, I passed the prairie rose. 
Not long after that, we had a visitor come and chat
a hummingbird who flew up to the screen and was anything but mean. 
Peeking in, like he was asking, “Do you have something sweet to eat? 
I’m parched and feel like I’ve been fasting.” 
Making a special trip to town,
my husband and I purchased a feeder and turned his frown upside down.
