Judges Notes:
In contrast to the Best of Show, I love the bright colors and the happy look on the fox's face.  I enjoy seeing artists use traditional media in new ways.

FIT FOR A FINCH

Where gold shines,

The finch

makes its shrine.

Fit for a king, or in this case, fit for a finch- the beautiful blooming forsythia, their cathedral.  A place to feed the body and mind, as well as the spirit, their happy song reaching the heavens.  They gather. Communion.

Mountain Moon Series, Loveland Public Library Exhibit, July 2- September 30, 2018

As I walked into the Loveland Public Library, I was impressed by their emphasis on public art.

Their celebration of the arts is refreshing!  I am honored to be chosen for this exhibit. Opportunities like these are perfect for building partnerships.

Aspen Mountain Moon sold the first day.

Perhaps Crazy Mountain Moon will speak to someone.

Paper That Pops Exhibit and Demonstrations, Denver Art Museum,, May 22-30

The Denver Art Museum was another incredible experience with great opportunities to share my passion for paper cutting. A man from China was intrigued with my process. We exchanged knowledge on the history of Chinese and German paper cutting. A family from India stopped to learn new techniques and tools their daughter could explore- she is quite the artist. A little guy named Diego started with questions and ended with statements more thoughtful and intelligent than some adults. A very satisfying and successful weekend. A big THANK YOU to my friends for your support.

ONTO A NEW DEN...

One Fine Day for a Nap was purchased by the Avera St. Mary's Hospital and recently took its place on the wall of their Cancer Institute in Pierre SD.

My heart is delighted to know this charmer will be charming young and old.

Even on the darkest day, foxy can bring a smile.

Paper That Pops Exhibit and Demonstrations, December 27 - January 4, Denver Art Museum
"This was such a wonderful demo, and it was amazing to witness so many fantastic conversations.
Your work was a real inspiration to our visitors."

Denver Art Museum brings Paris to Denver. Get your passport to Paris now!

As the featured artist, the experience was better than I could've imagined; 12 pieces on display,
welcoming staff, meaningful interactions with guests, super flow of traffic and exciting energy!
Special thanks to Erin Cousins.

The owl brought this mother over for a closer look.
We shared a pleasant conversation as he took flight.

Intrigued & intelligent, Maya & I had a lot to talk about.  We made stars twinkle & played a game with my portfolio. Foxy was ONE of her favorites. At the end, she surprised me with a paper cut.  I gave her a star I paper cut.  A gift for a gift. Thanks Maya.

The kids were excited, which made me excited,
which made their parents cheer...
or was it the other way around?
I was super excited, which made the kids excited, which made their parents cheer.  Any way you slice it, the energy was magnetic!

Kids and adults were drawn to these unique pieces that pop. Some had many questions. How do you get them so perfect? Do you put your design into a computer and use a laser cutter? Pointing to my hand and heart, I said, "It begins and ends here." I don't seek perfection. It doesn't exist in humans.
When my piece rings,
my heart sings.

ONTO THE NEXT!

It was wonderful to have the support of a dear friend. Thank you Gutierrez family.
